Importance of Good Attendance

Greetings,

This is a quick reminder about the importance of good attendance.  Students who have more than two absences a month are 20% less likely to graduate. That includes elementary students as well. Not only does your student being absent affect their learning but it also has an effect on our school funding.  The schools funding for next year is based on the school’s attendance for this year.  I know that this is a very different situation than we have ever faced before, but it is extremely important that you have your student at school on the two days that they are required to be here, physically or virtually.  One the days that they are participating via distance learning, you must make sure that they have checked in and are submitting work.  Sale Elementary currently has 273 students enrolled but we managed to accumulate 496 absences for the month of September.  This is unsatisfactory and unacceptable.  Your child’s education and the success of Sale Elementary is partnership.  I implore you to help us with this attendance issue.

I will also remind you that the school day begins at 7:35. Each day more and more students are arriving after that time.  Please remember that when your student arrives late, they will be marked Tardy. Four tardies is equal to one absence in the computer system.

Again, I thank you in advance for your help in these two areas.

Sincerely,

Aaron T. Lee Ph.D.

Greetings Sale Elementary Parents and Students,

My name is Dr. Aaron Lee. I am pleased to introduce myself as the new principal of Sale Elementary. It is unfortunate that the transition has to occur during this unprecedented time of uncertainty. However, I would like to reassure you that the faculty and staff of Sale Elementary is dedicated to student success. We will continue to help students excel through distance learning due to COVID-19.
Students should access online assignments through Microsoft Teams, and participate in scheduled class Team meetings to interact with their teachers and classmates. .

Please do not hesitate to call the office at (662) 241-7260. I anticipate the opportunity to meet both parents and students in person. In the meantime, stay safe and remain Falcon Strong!

Sincerely,

Aaron T. Lee, PhD
