COLUMBUS MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Thank you for your patience while we are working to provide the BEST possible educational experience for our students during this difficult time. Below you will find specifics regarding how students will be provided instructional opportunities and how students will receive grades based on their grade level.

ELEMENTARY K-3
Students have 2 opportunities to receive a grade, please choose one.
1. Educational packets picked up at the school
o Packets– Your child’s teacher will be in contact with you via Remind, phone, or email. Teachers are available to provide examples, videos, or verbal instruction on the skills in the packet. The teacher will communicate with you which specific page or pages which should be returned to them via screenshot or email scan. The student will be assigned a participation grade.
2. Online i-Ready
o i-Ready– Your child will follow their i-Ready path generated by the computer based off their January diagnostic score OR the teacher may have assigned a lesson. The student will receive a grade based off their score on the i-Ready assignment. Students should complete 45-60 minutes weekly in reading and math.

ELEMENTARY GRADES 4-5 & COLUMBUS MIDDLE SCHOOL
Students have 2 opportunities to receive a grade, please choose one.
1. Educational packets picked up at the school
o Packets- Your child’s teacher will be in contact with you via Remind, phone, or email. Teachers are available to provide examples, videos, or verbal instruction on the skills in the packet. The teacher will communicate with you which specific page or pages which should be returned to them via screenshot or email scan. The student will be assigned a participation grade.
2. Online
o i-Ready- Your child will follow their i-Ready path generated by the computer based off their January diagnostic score OR the teacher may have assigned a lesson. The student will receive a grade based off their score on the i-Ready assignment. Students should complete 45-60 minutes weekly in reading and math.
o New online platform via Office 365
The student will login by going to the district website (columbuscityschools.org)
At the bottom of the page, click the Office 365 link.
  The student email will be their student number @columbuscityschools.org (ex. )       and the password is their birthdate (ex. 12/14/2007 or for single digit months and days 6/5/2011).
  The student number is the same as the number used for Clever.

COLUMBUS HIGH SCHOOL/ McKellar
Students have 2 opportunities to receive a grade, please choose one.
1. Educational packets picked up at the school
o Packets- Your child’s teacher will be in contact with you via Remind, phone, Schoology, or email. Teachers are available to provide examples, videos, or verbal instruction on the skills in the packet. The teacher will communicate with you which specific page or pages should be returned to them via hand delivered, screenshot or email scan. The student will be assigned a grade.
2. Schoology
o Schoology is an online platform that has been used in the classroom this year.
 Log-in information is the same as logging in the computer
 Teachers will communicate with students via Schoology
 Zoom/Teams Video Class Conferences will be held as an option for instruction.
